  • Call On Me is a care provider here on the Isle of Wight. We pride ourselves, in providing care and support to individuals in their own homes, and within supported living provisions. 

    We are currently recruiting a deputy manager to join our team whereby they will maintain and develop our services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering the highest quality of services or be someone with some management experience ready to step up to the next level.

    Accountable to the Registered Manager you will be responsible for the safe delivery of care to service users and the growth and development of the business through marketing and recruitment.

    Strong staff management skills are essential as are knowledge of care principles and regulations, skills in assessment and care planning, the ability to build working relations with health professionals, local authorities and the Care Quality· Commission (CQC).

    The role will include the following:

    • Assisting the Registered Manager with Regulatory Compliance

    • Overseeing the day-to-day smooth running of the office

    • Ensuring that all points of service delivery are implemented to high standards

    • Managing a team of staff, ensuring that duties are completed and providing leadership,

    • Liaising with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders

    • Overseeing recruitment and forecasting demands on training and staffing levels

    • Conducting staff appraisals and supervisions

    • Representing the company during meetings with officials and service commissioners

    • Attending training events and ensuring that skills and knowledge of industry best practice is kept up to date

    • Updating policies and procedures

    • Ensuring that our service complies with CQC requirements

    • Ensuring that the highest standards of care are always maintained.

    The role of the Deputy Branch Manager is a key role in the Company that will require the post holder to constantly look at ways to develop the business to attain competitive advantage in the industry. The position will also give the post holder the opportunity to achieve both personal and professional development. It is crucial, for the Deputy Manager to perform effectively, that applicants have extensive previous experience and the following key attributes.

    Essential Skills and Experience

    ·      NVQ 3 in health and social care or equivalent, or be working towards and be able to demonstrate competency in effective leadership

    ·      Relevant qualification in learning disabilities/ mental health

    ·      Evidence of ongoing CPD to keep up to date with latest research and good practice guidance

    Experience (including voluntary)   

    ·      Minimum 2 years’ management experience within a care setting or similar service

    ·      Experience of providing person centred care and care planning

    ·      Staff management experience.

    ·      Experience of successful change implementation

    ·      Experience of auditing standards and maintaining quality assurance systems

    Job-related skills and knowledge (these should be demonstrable)

    ·      Understanding of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009, the Care Act (2014) and CQC guidance and regulation

    ·      Understanding of leadership and staff motivation

    ·      Ability to prioritise work in an environment which may have conflicting pressures and demands

    ·      Evidence of effective staff rota management Proficient in use of IT – Microsoft Word and Outlook

     Working Hours: Full time

    Availability needs to ideally be full time, compressed hours will be considered.

    On call rotation will be required within the role

    Salary: £31,380.00 per year

  • Community Care Assistant (Ryde) 26.75 hrs pw

    Part time for a set shift pattern-block shifts paid at all times, alongside breaks.

    Set Pattern:

    Week 1-

    Monday evening 4pm-10pm

    Tuesday morning 8.30am- 1.30pm

    Wednesday morning 8.30am-1pm

    Thursday evening 4pm-10pm

    Friday morning 8.30am-1pm

    Saturday off

    Sunday off

    Monday evening 4pm-10pm

    Tuesday morning 8.30am-1.30pm

    Wednesday off

    Thursday evening 4pm-10pm

    Friday off

    Saturday morning 8.30am-1pm

    Sunday evening 4pm-10pm

    (Small focused round of clients (max of 4 visits per shift in the morning) some calls being 4pm-10pm are supporting a lady for the whole visit.)

  • Hours: Full Time / Block Hours ( 2 x shifts: 8am-10pm + Sleep in duty and one 8am-3pm) 35hrs PW plus 2 sleep shifts.

    Location: The Bay Area (Sandown and Shanklin)

    Rate of Pay: Between £12.00-£14.50 (Plus Bank Holiday enhancements)

    Qualifications/Experience: Experience of supporting young adults with mental health needs is desirable, essential to have a can-do attitude.

    Ideally a driver with business insurance. Compensated for mileage use.

    • To support and enable service users to maintain skills and personal interests while delivering person-centred care unique to each individual

    • To maintain skills at a current level and undertake such training and development as required, from time-to-time, to maintain and progress knowledge

    The Carer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    • Ensure that service users are at the heart of care delivery and that their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing

    • To contribute to the efficient running of the service

    • Support service users to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community

    • Ensure care plans and other information about how to support service users are followed

    • Be responsible for informing the Senior Carer/Line Manager of any changes in the needs of service users

    • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals they support
